A Special Word of Thanks to our Suppliers
Sometimes we need to say a word of thanks to the suppliers who give us good service, and share our experience with others. That is the case with my web site supplier. When I started this web site, I had no idea of the numbers of people interested in things about Mexico and Veracruz. In the process, I have personally met a lot of great people who have come to Veracruz and have learned a little about the publishing business(and how hard it is to get started). The next day, I tried www.johntoddjr.com, and up came my story. Wow! I was on the air! I sent emails to my friends, and they enjoyed my story. New Challenges After a couple of days of reading my only story, I noticed some mispellings, and some new phrases I wanted to add, so I sent a new revised version of the text. This time, my son was busy with work and it took him a week to make the changes. By this time, I was getting impatient, and had time on my hands. He knew how to write HTML and I didnŽt. The next thing I did was to go to www.downloads.com and downloaded an HTML Editor Demo, and started experimenting around with it. It had 45 days before it expired, and I learned all I could before it expired. Traffic Increases So, now instead of writing letters to my friends about what I'm doing in my spare time in Mexico, I do a story for my web site. I wasn't interested in attracting others, but soon I began to get emails from people all over the world asking questions about the particular stories. Then I checked Google and found my stories had been picked up by the search engines. That's when I noticed that my traffic started growing. Once again I went back to my son for some technical advice. How was I getting picked up by the search engines? Getting Picked up by the Search Engines He explained that in the source code, be sure some main words of your product or service are mentioned. All the search engines have "bots" or robot crawlers that constantly comb the net. They look for these Key Words.
