"Callejon de la Lagunilla" Veracruz, Ver.	Many of the homes in downtown Veracruz were built in the 1880´s and are now abandoned by families whose heirs have died out, moved away, or lack the funds to restore the family home. In March 2004, the downtown area was finally declared a "Historical Area" and is now under the protection of the INAH.
